Michael “Mike” L. Washtock, 83, of Beaver Dam, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2025, with his family by his side.
A visitation for Mike will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd. in Beaver Dam. A Christian Service of Remembrance will begin at 1 p.m. with Father Will Arnold as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Mike was born on May 21, 1941, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Beaver Dam. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Beaver Dam. In December of 1963, he went off to the military to serve our country with the US Army in West Germany. He came home from the service and built his lake home which he lived in for the rest of his life. He worked at MetalFab in Beaver Dam and retired after many years. Mike was a member of the International Assoc. of Machinists & Aerospace Workers and a member of the Beaver Dam VFW Post #1163.
Mike loved nature and being outdoors. He loved gardening and living off the land. He loved to fish, hunt and trap. While living on Beaver Dam Lake, he loved to boat, take his children camping on Louie’s Island and row to catch walleye. He taught his children and grandchildren how to fish and dip for fish using his dipping net. In the winter months, Mike would ice boat, ice fish and ice skate with his kids.
Mike had a creative mind. He loved to paint, read and build. His grandchildren enjoyed playing on his slot machine. He always had trinkets to give his grandchildren as they came to visit also.
Mike is survived by his children: David (Monaliza) Washtock, Susan (David) Kastner, Michelle (Kristopher) Pinkerton and Laura Walker; six grandchildren: Brittany (Peter) Schiavo, Natasha Pinkerton, Hunter Pinkerton, Felicia Walker, Morgan Kastner and Hailey Washtock; also, eight great grandchildren: Olivia, Isabell, Peter Jr., Silvia, Apollo, Scarlett, Hunter and River. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Katherine Moritz and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Victor C. and Laura (nee Moritz) Washtock, sons: Victor and Steven Washtock; brothers: Jerome Moritz, Frank, John and Victor Jr. Washtock; sister and brother-in-law: Helen (Ed) Fredrick; nephews: Danny and David Fredrick.
