Michael P. Sawyer

Michael Sawyer, age 72, died Friday, October 13, 2023, at his home in Burnett.

There will be a memorial gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will be at Burnett Central Cemetery.

Michael Paul Sawyer was born on November 29, 1950, in Hustisford, Wisconsin to the late Paul and Ilona (Pieper) Sawyer. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1969 and began working. Mick was a meat cutter throughout his life working at several area Piggly Wiggly’s and also at Leroy Meats. On March 6, 1993, he was united in marriage with Louise Van Buren in Burnett. Together they enjoyed road trips through the years to places out west and to Florida. Mick loved spending time with his grandchildren and absolutely enjoyed the companionship of his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of Juneau; two children, Chris (Teresa) Sawyer of Horicon and Melissa (Troy) Boettcher of Columbus; five grandchildren; Alexander Sawyer (Jennifer Schmidt), Zachery Sawyer, Hannah Boettcher (Austin Keach), Megan Boettcher, and Mikenna Boettcher; two brothers, Daniel (Sandy) Sawyer of Menomonee Falls and Dean Sawyer of Burnett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mick was preceded in death by his parents.
