Myrtle F. Semple

Myrtle Semple, age 89, of Beaver Dam died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Friends and family may call at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Jack Harrison will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Myrtle Semple was born on December 8, 1917 in Randolph, Wisconsin to the late Fred and Emma (Owen) Achterberg. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1936. Before their marriage, Myrtle and Oscar enjoyed traveling to various places as a member of the Portage Motorcycle Club. On September 3, 1942, she was united in marriage with Oscar A. Semple in Blytheville, Arkansas. While in Arkansas, Myrtle worked for Loy Eich Chevrolet. In 1945, Oscar completed his military service and they moved back to Wisconsin to start their family. Myrtle worked for Metal Fab as an accountant until she retired in 1985. She also worked as an accountant at Grace Presbyterian Church for many years. Myrtle bowled in several leagues through the years. She knitted many beautiful sweaters for her family and loved being active with her grandchildren. Myrtle was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include her two sons, Kerry Semple and Kevin (Eileen) Semple, both of Beaver Dam, three grandchildren, Danielle Semple of Madison, Kaycee Semple and Kraig Semple, both of Beaver Dam, her sister-in-law, Doris Smith of Cambria, other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Martha Semple-Smith, her husband, Oscar on January 12, 2007, a son, Craig Semple, a daughter-in-law, Sandy Semple, a granddaughter, Shelli Semple, a brother, Kenneth Achterberg, a sister, Vivian Sackett and a brother-in-law, Robert F. Sackett.
