Jo was born on July 9, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Gordon D. and Elsie L. (Woodlee) Nicklaus. She was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School. She was married to Harold D. Falbe June 23, 1956.
Jo spent 29 years as a legal secretary for attorney Frank Woodworth and later worked in the administration office at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals. Jo was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church, working on the church archives and the quilt group. In her younger days, Jo enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and trapshooting. Jo was also an avid traveler, visiting 35 states, Canada, Aruba and Ireland. In her later years, she loved watching her son and grandson race at the local tracks, and her daughter and grandchildren play softball. Her hobbies included sewing and reading, but mostly Jo was a dedicated genealogist; and got excited when finding another person in the family tree.
Jo is survived by her daughter Lisa K. Falbe of Beaver Dam, grandson Aaron C. Falbe of Cambria, granddaughter Andrea C. Falbe (Devin Scharf) of Beaver Dam, step-granddaughter Carlyn M. Voight, Daughter-in-law Janice K. Falbe, brother Robert G. Nicklaus of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sisters-in-law, Alice Wendt of Onalaska, WI and Marcia Seiler, Sun Prairie, WI, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jo is further survived by special people: Shannon Loring, Michelle Loring, Corinne Falbe and Linda Holzschuh. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jeffrey D. Falbe and his father Harold D. Falbe.
Jo’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Beaver Dam for the wonderful care she received. We’d also like to thank the hospice nurses from SSM Health.
