Norene L. Mannel, age 85, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at her home, with her husband by her side.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Norene Laura was born on March 19, 1938 to Norvin and Laura (Apking) Rabe in Chicago Heights, IL. On August 31, 1957, she was united in marriage with David R. Mannel in Steger, Illinois. She worked as a secretary at the stamping plant for Ford Motor Company in Chicago and later worked in real estate alongside her husband. Eventually, they developed Mannel Real Estate in Crete, Illinois, later becoming Century 21. Norene loved spending time with her grandchildren and supported them in everything they did. She was member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Norene is survived by her husband, David; son, Alan (Sheila) Mannel of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Katherine (Josh Fairfield) Mannel and David Mannel; sisters, Sharon (John) Kowalewski and Dinah (Bruce) Hermann; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made in Norene L. Mannel’s name to your local fire department.
