Norma Ellen Drinkwine, age 86, of Mayville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation for Norma will be held at church on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mayville.
Norma was born the daughter of Walter and Gretchen (Clothier) Pietschman on October 7, 1937, in Waukegan, Illinois. She was a graduate of Waukegan High School. Norma was united in marriage to Melvin Drinkwine on April 28, 1962, in Waukegan.
Norma was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. She was active with her church and often could be found helping to prepare and serve funeral luncheons. She also was a part of the ladies fidelity group. Norma enjoyed to golf at the Mayville Golf Course with her husband, family, and friends. She crafted beautiful quilts and was very talented with a sewing machine. Watching the Brewers and Packers was also a favorite pastime of Norma even though she was a Cubs fan at heart.
Norma will be missed by her sons: Dan (special friend Jaqueline) Drinkwine of Slinger and Steve (Carrie) of Delafield; grandchildren: Devin, Maxwell, Drew, Brayden, Tate, Lillian, Jacob, and Grace; her great-granddaughter Rhea; and her sister Marilyn (John) Atherton of Hot Springs, AR. Norma is further survived nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mel; and her son Jim.
