Paul A. Schaber, age 75, died peacefully but unexpectedly at his home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
There will be a memorial gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a brief memorial service followed by military honors.
Paul was born on July 21, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Anthony and Joyce (Hedlund) Schaber. He graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee in 1968 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1990. On September 7, 1985, Paul was united in marriage with Marcia Mravik in Milwaukee. Following his military service, Paul worked at the Coast Guard Finance Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. He later returned to Wisconsin, where he was employed at the Cedarburg Post Office and eventually retired from the Claims Department at the VA in Middleton in 2015. Paul enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing computer games, reading, and watching football.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Schaber of Beaver Dam; two children, Erin (Karl) Knowlton and Jeremy Schaber, both of Milwaukee; four siblings, Pete Schaber, Robert Schaber, Patti Riebow, and Barb Casterline; a sister-in-law, Marlene C. Mravik; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
