Ralph Hoot Gibson

Ralph “Hoot” K. Gibson, 80, of N3134 Hwy G, Reeseville, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison. Visitation for Hoot will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Reeseville Community Center in Reeseville. The Lowell VFW and Reeseville American Legion will meet at 6:30 p.m. to pay their respects. Visitation will also be on Thursday, June 4th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Prairie Cemetery in township of Lowell. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Lowell VFW Post 9392 and the Reeseville American Legion Post 190. Ralph Kenneth was born the son of Kenneth and Erma (Reinhardt) Gibson on August 6, 1934 in Reeseville. He was a 1952 graduate of Reeseville High School. He was united in marriage to Patricia L. Kasper on October 3, 1959. Ralph “Hoot” proudly served his country in the United States Army. Hoot owned and operated Gibson Barber Shop for over a half a century; serving as many as four generations in some families. Hoot was a pillar of the Reeseville community. He took pride in serving the Reeseville residents in all capacities. Hoot believed in “small town America”. He was involved in many areas of the Reeseville community some of which include: member of the Chamber of Commerce, Volunteer Fire Department for 37 years, American Legion Post 190 for 35 years and also company commander for the past 10 years, Lowell VFW Post 9392 and managed the Grove Prairie Cemetery. Ralph is survived by his children: John Gibson of Beaver Dam, Dennis Gibson of Reeseville and Sue (Mike) Lange of Oak Grove; his grandchildren: Emily, Evan, and Victoria Gibson, Kenny Gibson, and Kelsey and Mason Lange; his brothers: Howard Gibson of Beaver Dam and Donald (Bonita) Gibson of Reeseville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, daughter-in-law Rhonda and his sister Virginia Gessert.
