Richard N. Mitchell Jr., 55, of Beaver Dam passed away suddenly at his home, due to heart complications, on Monday, February 25, 2013.
A memorial service for Rich will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Noon at Koepsell Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam. A visitation will also be held on Sat., March 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon at Koepsell Funeral Home. Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146.
Richard was born on June 1, 1957 to Richard N. and Joyce A. Archambault-Macke in St. Charles, Missouri. In 1975, he graduated from Winfield High School as the class Valedictorian. On June 20, 1992, he was married to Brenda Schmidt in Beaver Dam.
Rich proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1975 – 1979. Rich attended Waukesha Technical College in the auto body program and was then employed by the former Thomas Chevrolet for many years. He was presently self-employed and operated Mitchell Lawn Service.
He enjoyed refurbishing Yamaha Enticers and was an avid Packer fan. Rich loved the outdoors; especially turkey hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. One of his greatest passions was building their family cabin in Mercer, Wisconsin.
Rich is survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda, of Beaver Dam; his children: Nicholas Raith of St. Joseph, Michigan, Sheena Leigh Mitchell and Elizabeth J. Mitchell both of Beaver Dam; his father Richard Mitchell Sr. of Waupun; his sister Laurie Ann Elliott of Beaver Dam and brothers: Brian Mitchell of Juneau and Mark Allen Mitchell of Burnett; mother-in-law Doris M. Matuszeski of Beaver Dam; brother-in-law Ronald R. Schmidt of Beaver Dam and sister-in-law Barbara M. Glish of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother Joyce A. Archambault-Macke, his brother Norman Patrick in infancy and his father-in-law Roland Matuszeski.
