Rita A. Greinert, age 90, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Visitation for Rita will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
The former Rita A. Metzger was born on March 26, 1934, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Watertown, Wisconsin to the late Raymond and Mary (Caughlin) Metzger. She attended a one-room school in Clyman and graduated from Juneau High School. In 1955, Rita went to work in the office at Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee. She made many lasting friendships there and continued to play cards, celebrate birthdays, and socialize with those girls well into retirement years. On October 3, 1959, Rita was united in marriage with Richard L. Greinert at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clyman and together they had three children. Rita was a stay-at-home mom until she went to work at Clyman Elementary School. Rita worked for Aunt Nellie’s for many years before retiring. Dick and Rita wintered in Odessa, Florida for about 30 years, making life-long friends from all over the United States and Canada. Rita had been an active member of the Clyman Community Club, St. John’s Catholic Church in Clyman, and volunteered many hours at the Clyman Sportsmen’s Club.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Greinert; three children, Teri (Mick) Dexheimer, Mark Greinert (Jennifer Wettstein) and Tami (Mike) Christian; three grandchildren, Nick (Suzanne) Christian, Abby (Dustin) Christian-Crouch, and Hannah (Jake) Piojda; three great grandchildren, Miles Christian, and Blakely and Warren Piojda; a brother-in-law, Ron Schoenwetter; other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Alice Kreitzman and Alice’s husband Roy; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Schoenwetter; a niece, Sharon Rahn; and her dear friend, Elaine Albrecht.
Rita’s family would like to thank everyone at Hospice Home of Hope for their love and caring during this difficult time.
