Robert R. Rennock, Sr., age 85, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, August 25, 2006 at Continental Manor in Randolph.
Robert R. Rennock was born on January 21, 1921 in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin to the late William and Martha (Volbrecht) Rennock. He served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II on both the destroyer escort USS Edward H. Allen and the troop transport USS APA Severe. On February 14, 1947 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Sturner in Chicago, IL. Bob worked as the superintendent of Wisconsin Brick and Block for many years. He was a co-owner of the United Brick and Block company in Madison for several years. He also owned and operated Rennock Hardware in Lowell, and in his retirement, he and his wife operated the IGA grocery store in Pittsville. Bob was a charter member of the Lowell VFW Post #9392 and was active with the Post”s Honor Guard and Firing Squad. He was a volunteer firefighter and Dodge County Deputy for Lowell. He also served on the Juneau School Board and was a member of the Lowell United Church of Christ. Bob was an avid sportsman and his love for hunting and fishing was something he shared with his children and grandchildren. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, his life was a life of service to his country, his community and his family.

two sisters Georgene (Zeno) Yelk of Lowell and
Lucille (Ray) Reed of Pine Plains, NY
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Phyllis on February 12, 2005, his son, Scott, on May 31, 2006, a granddaughter, a son-in-law, Dale Gerke, six brothers, Edward, William, Harvey, Louis, Alexander “Bud”, and Stanley, a sister, Myrtle “Pat” Marston, and an infant brother, Alfred.
Visitation for Robert will be held at The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Carol Lange will officiate. Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Lowell VFW Post#9392.
