With my full sympathy for my grandpa Rodgers passing. He will be missed. I enjoyed all the things that he taught me about fishing and all the times at the cottage in Briggsville on Lake Mason as well as his home in Elba Heights.
We were Roger's neighbor for the past 20 years. He was amazing at keeping his home and grounds in great shape. I'll never forget seeing him climbing up his 2-story, slanted roof...just a few years ago. I made my husband run over to help him but he said he'd been climbing silos since he was a kid and didn't need any help! (I don't think he added...from a city boy, but I'll bet that's what he was thinking!) I also appreciated the way he drove so cautiously down the street, always looking for kids who might be on the road and giving a wave. Thank you, Roger for setting a great example of how to live independently until we're ready to say "adieu". Rest in peace! - Frank & Patti Statz
