Rolland “Rollie” L. Kern, 65, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. A visitation for Rollie will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A visitation will also be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. A funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. with Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. Rolland was born the son of John and Evelyn (Schmaltz) Kern on May 31, 1952 in Beaver Dam. He was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. He was a member of the Arbor Tree Foundation. Rollie enjoyed playing Euchre, watching the Packers, cooking, hunting, fishing, getting together with family and friends, and taking long road trips with his longtime girlfriend, Bonnie. He is survived by his girlfriend Bonnie Guenther of Beaver Dam, sisters and brothers; Karla (David) Schultz of DePere, Kathleen (Robert) McGee of Green Bay, Mary Sue (Rusty) Kern Barwick of Tennessee, Donald “Super” Kern of Beaver Dam, sister-in-law; Frieda Kern, nieces and nephews; Laura Gruman, Jessika Schultz, Peter McGee, Justin McGee, Tyler McGee, Jacob Kern, Rachel Packard, Lucas Kern, Elizabeth Kern, Joe Kern, Emily Kern, and his canine companion Doctor. Rollie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Charles, Gary, and Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
