Roy Armund Lichtenberg, age 89, of Mayville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Funeral Services for Roy will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Traci Maass officiating. A visitation for Roy will take place at church on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Following the service, graveside military honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69 at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville.
Roy was born the son of Edgar and Irma (nee Gentz) Lichtenberg on March 15, 1936, in the Town of Herman. He was a graduate of Mayville High School. Roy was united in marriage to Sandra Batterman on August 7, 1965, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where he was an active member.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69. Roy was one of the owners of Lichtenberg Bros, Inc. along with his two other brothers. He farmed his whole life and took pride in everything he did. Roy enjoyed being in nature fishing and bird watching. He especially loved peacocks.
Roy loved football and even played during high school. He was a supporter of FFA. Above all, Roy cherished his family and was so grateful for their time together.
Roy is survived by his children: Cindy (Dan) Mueller of Sussex, Gina (Troy) Rosedahl of Brownsville, and TJ( Nicki Luehring) Lichtenberg of Mayville; grandchildren: Jordan (Lauren) Mueller, Jacob (Kathy) Mueller, Josh (Shannan) Mueller, Isaiah (fiancée Nolee) Rosedahl, Hannah (Owen) Halsne, Zachariah (Amanda) Rosedahl, and Rachael Luehring; his great-grandchildren: Tayln and Lukas Luehring, and Janey Roy Mueller; his sisters: Joyce (David) Bruni and Jean Lichtenberg. Roy is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Sandra; his son Daniel Lichtenberg; two brothers Earl and Roger Lichtenberg; and his sister Judy Nass.
