Ruth C. Sharpee

Ruth C. Sharpee, 94, of Portage, and formerly of Columbus passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Our Home Assisted Living in Portage.A visitation for Ruth will be held on Friday, November 4th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus. A private family interment will take place at Spring Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, Keyeser, Wisconsin.Ruth was born on January 29, 1922 to Art and Julia (Draves) Vine in Montfort, WI, and was a graduate of Montfort High School. She was united in marriage to Palmer Sharpee on April 17, 1943. Ruth always liked to be busy, whether at home supporting the family farm or working for the community as a 4H club leader. She also enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher for many years, teaching children of all ages. Time spent nurturing her grandchildren was Ruth’s greatest joy of all. Ruth is survived by her sons: Kenneth (Mary Lou) Sharpee of Rio, Richard (Jeri) Sharpee of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Rolf (Barbara) Sharpee of Madison; her sister, Rena Lunde of Sun Prairie; her grandchildren Jeff (Rachel) Sharpee, Deborah (Tim) Beloyed, Garth (Elizabeth) Sharpee, Grant (Jacyln) Sharpee, Katharine (David Gerk) Sharpee, Gretel (Cullin) Weiskopf, William Carey Sharpee, and Erin Nicole Sharpee; her great grandchildren: Adam, Sean, Lilah, Morgan, Riley, and Anya; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Palmer, her brothers: Charles and Robert, and her sisters: Roxy Fox and Rosie Gard.
