Ruth Dorthy Ulrich, age 92, of Horicon, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam.
A Memorial Service for Ruth will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation for Ruth will take place at church on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
Ruth was born on Valentine’s Day in 1934 to August and Dorothy (Kruel) Jaquet in Horicon. She was united in marriage to Ronald Ulrich on December 18, 1954, at St. Stephen’s in Horicon.
Ruth was a graduate of Horicon High School and went on to graduate from Dodge County Teacher’s College and received her master’s degree in education from Oshkosh State University. Ruth was a dedicated teacher for forty years teaching first grade in Dodge County.
Ruth was a faithful and active member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. Her church family was an important part of her life, where she formed lasting friendships.
Embroidering was a favorite pastime of Ruth’s, often creating beautiful pieces to share with her family and friends. Each stitch was made with love and now are precious keepsakes. Ruth was a member of the Horicon Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling.
Her kitchen was often filled with the warm aromas of home-cooked meals and freshly baked treats. She made sure that no one ever left her table hungry.
Ruth enjoyed traveling with her friends and going on trips to visit her family. She was truly the glue that kept her family together. Ruth kept the traditions alive and made her family feel so very loved and special. She treasured the memories she made with her loved ones, and her legacy will continue to live on in the faith she shared, the love she gave, and the countless lives she touched.
Ruth is survived by her children: Linda (Robert) Wilson, Lisa (Todd) Wanie, and Larry (Jamie) Ulrich; her grandchildren: Erin Wilson, Ethan (Catherine) Wilson, Katie (Daniel) Ready, Adam Wanie, Emily (Scott) Feucht, Christopher Ulrich, and Kayla (Matt) Rex; her great grandchildren: Porter, Conway, and Patsy Feucht, Henry, Penelope, and Avrie Wanie, Walker and Ledger Rex, and Lennon Wilson. Ruth is further survived and dearly missed by other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ronald in 2020; her siblings: Arthur, Edward, Robert, Emilie, and Helen; and her great-granddaughter Collyns.
Memorials in Ruth’s honor may be directed to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon or the Horicon American Legion.
