When Scott started to have some medical issues I tried to call him or communicate with him weekly. I was stationed at Wurtsmith AFB with Scott also. When he got his orders to Alaska,I too got orders to Shemya about 3 months later. Scott was happy,I wasn't....haha We roomed together there and since we spent time at Wurtsmith, made the little remote island bearable. Detroit had the fab 5, we had the fab 5 at Wurtsmith..myself, Scott ,Barry Torhan, James(Red) Goetz. (deceased) and Brad Johnston, also from Wisconsin. We kept in touch throughout the years, with Scott actually tracking down Barry. I remember the call from Scott..I found him!!! Which led to the old crew getting together and keeping in touch. Scott stood up in my wedding..36 years ago....seems like yesterday. Scott taught me how to drive a bulldozer on Shemya, and a big snowplow out there too. He could drive anything, very skilled. Scott was a good friend, someone you could rely on,he was family...he will be missed..say hi to Red from the gang...A,

Scott was a wonderful employee with Batzler Trucking Inc. and we enjoyed having him for as long as he served. He was hard working and always so dependable. I enjoyed our many conversations over the years. He loved to talk about dance and his cats with me. He will be greatly missed here and truck #40 will always remain his. May he rest in peace with our Lord & Savior.

I was very sad to hear of Scott’s passing.I was Scott’s roommate when we were Stationed at Wurtsmith Airbase for almost two years. Scott had received orders to Alaska and I received orders to Korea..It was quite a few years before we reconnected and the group of us from Wurtsmith made plans to get together, and we did so.It was great to see and be with Scott again and he will always be in my heart and Prayers.Be at Peace Scott and GodBless.

With Scott being 10 years younger than me my memories are vague. I do fondly remember some of the Giese family reunions at Theresa Legion Park. May our Lord and Savior comfort the family members and friends in their time of grieving. Live on the good memories. Blessings!
