Selma J. Pederson

Selma J. Pederson, 90, of the Township of Hampden passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church, Keyeser, WI with the Rev. Sylvia Lee-Thompson officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until Noon at the church. Interment will take place Spring Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. Selma was born the daughter of Henry and Josie (Erie) Pederson on April 29, 1925 in Columbus, WI. She was a 1942 graduate of Columbus High School. Selma was a lifelong farmer in the Township of Hampden. She was also employed with the Wisconsin Cheeseman for 15 years. Selma served on the board of directors for the North Marcellon Cheese Factory. Selma was a member of Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser where she was confirmed in 1938. She enjoyed traveling with her son, Steve around the United States. Selma was a hardworking woman who loved the outdoors especially tending to her garden and flowers. She showed a quiet strength and humbleness. Selma will be remembered for her generous spirit especially in sharing what she grew. Selma is survived by her son, Steven of the Township of Hampden; and further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers: Herbert and Melvin. Memorials may be directed to Spring Prairie Lutheran Church, Keyeser, WI.
