Steven P. Grulke

Steven P. Grulke, 66, of Mayville, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the U.W. Hospital in Madison. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16th from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. On Friday, May 17th a visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in the Township of Theresa. Steven was born the son of Reinhard and Norma (Christian) Grulke on April 19, 1953 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1971 graduate of Mayville High School and went on to attend U.W. Madison in Dairy Science. On December 12, 1987 Steven was united in marriage with Nancy Mae Lueck at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) in the Tn. of Theresa. Together with his family he was a dairy farmer in the Tn. of Theresa until the spring of 2008, he also drove school bus for the Mayville School District for several years, and was currently employed by Gundrum Trucking of Slinger. Steven was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) where he served on several boards; the Men’s and Mixed Choirs and was the secretary and treasurer for the Immanuel Cemetery for many years. He was a General Leader of the Mayville Lucky Clovers 4-H club for 46 years and was and FFA Alumni member. He was a member of the Dodge Co. Holstein Breeders Association, board member of the Dodge Co. Farm Bureau and was on the Dodge Co. Forage Counsel. Steven loved to read, he enjoyed caring for the animals on the farm and loved helping his kids show animals at the Dodge County Fair. Steven truly loved his family. He will be missed by his wife of 31 years Nancy, children; Alison Grulke, Cassandra Grulke, and Paul (special friend Jenna Auchterhof) Grulke all of Mayville. His brothers and sister; Carolyn (Peter) Thompson of Mayville, Fredrick (Sandy) Grulke of Mayville, Eugene (Cheryl) Grulke of Lomira, Richard (Terri) Grulke of Beaver Dam, and his brothers-in-law; Garold (Susie) Bartel of Scandinavia, WI, Steve (Linda) Zastrow of Juneau. Steven is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister; Phyllis. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Grulke Family. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the UW Madison Neurosurgical Floor for their wonderful care. Thank you for everything you did for Steve!
