Teresa Lira, age 67, died on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Beaver Dam Health Care Center. The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Teresa Contreras was born on February 1, 1954 in Eagle Pas, Texas to Salvador and Lucia (Castillo) Contreras. She grew up in Eagle Pass, where she attended school. Teresa was in a marriage to Antonio Lira for 22 years from which they had three children. Teresa worked at the Eagle Pass School District as a Cafeteria attendant. She went on to work for the County and State Health Department of Texas. Teresa was a giving human being that helped others in many ways. She had a love for music, especially Tejano genre. Her dedication as a mother was unsurpassed. She had total support and encouragement for her children in their school and extra-curricular activities. The last twenty plus years, Teresa faced some health issues and limitations due to that; however, her kindness, unconditional love, support, and outstanding strength still reached and guided her kids and grandkids. Teresa was the light of a room with her beautiful smile, friendliness, and cheerful personality. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. Teresa is survived by her daughters, Raquel (Raymundo Sr.) Gutierrez of Madison and Patricia Lira of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, “Gutierrez” Claudia, Aracely, Raymundo Jr. Rodriguez – Emilio, Kassandra, Pedro Jr., Salvador, and Mayra (Hilario); great grandchildren, Medely, Max, and Ediel; nephew, Noe (Nora) Pacheco; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador & Lucia, son, Antonio E. Lira; and sister, Margarita Fuentes Pacheco.
