Theodore Van Kleef, 88, a resident of Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Pastor Mike Giebink officiating. Visitation will also be held on Monday, January 24th from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place the following day at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton, WI.
Theodore was born the son of John and Hubertje (Doornwaard) Van Kleef on November 11, 1922 in the township of Cattaraugus, WI. He was married to Barbara Irish on August 16, 1948 in Dubuque, IA. Theodore was employed with Kraft Foods of Beaver Dam for 28 years. After his retirement, he won a pickup truck that he drove across the United States including Alaska exploring National Parks.
In his earlier years, Theodore enjoyed photography, and maintained his own darkroom. His lifelong hobbies also included woodworking and metalwork that he loved to give as gifts to his family and friends. Theodore will be remembered as a man who was always willing to lend a helpful hand.
Theodore is survived by his children: Jean Van Kleef of Portage, Jerold Van Kleef of Menasha, and Linda (Paul) Holzschuh of Menasha; his sisters: Henrietta Winterhack of Waupun and Margaret (Bob) Schubert of Wautoma; his grandchildren: Dusty Van Kleef of Tucson, AZ, Derek Kuehl of Beaver Dam, Joseph Van Kleef and Jerome Van Kleef both of Marshfield, Peggy Rueckert and Donna Irving both of Markesan, Steven Joosten and Jenny Joosten both of Menasha and Cora Bailey of Ridgecrest, CA; numerous great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara in 1984; daughter Mary Lee Kuehl in 1987, his brother William and one grandson.
