Theresa G. Hilt

Theresa G. Hilt, age 94, of Lomira, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Wellington Place in Hartford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira with Rev. Fr. Edwin Kornath presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lomira.

Theresa was born the daughter of August and Catherine (Gilles) Schneider on March 27, 1930. She was united in marriage to Raymond R. Hilt on October 17, 1950, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. Together with her husband and family, they farmed in the town of Lomira since 1953. Theresa worked as a cook for Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Lomira for over 32 years. Theresa was a member of St. Mary’s in Lomira and helped with the rummage sales, sang in the choir, and helped serve funeral luncheons. In her spare time, Theresa loved to travel and take day trips. She enjoyed collecting dolls, gardening, and quilting. Theresa was an amazing cook and loved the holidays and spending time with her family. She loved going to her grandchildren’s events.

Theresa is survived by her children- Kathleen Heinecke of Fond du Lac, Christine (Ronald) Ansay of Fredonia, Jo Ann Kikkert of Fond du Lac, David (Sally) Hilt of Lowell, IN., Paul Hilt of Lomira, Ronald (Kristy) Hilt of Oshkosh, and Mary Beth (Craig) Eilbes of Brownsville. Her sister- Cordelia ‘Connie’ Bender. Her grandchildren- Sherry (Dan) Couto, Jeff (Kate) Heinecke, Angie Heinecke, Michelle (Travis) Head, Tom (Ashley) Ansay, Karen (Carmen) Ciccone, Mark (Krystle) Ansay, Laura (Chris) Harvey, Russ (Jill) Kikkert, Ryan (Jessica Milasius) Kikkert, Lance (Amanda) Robb-Kikkert, Kara (Michael) Brooks, Kyle Kikkert, Elizabeth Hilt, Michael Hilt, Emily Hilt, Jack Hilt, Katie Hilt, Amanda (fiancé Dave Trevarthen) Eilbes, Missy (Sawyer Knuppel) Eilbes, and Katelyn Eilbes. Her great grandchildren- Isabella, Ally, Juliet, Pete, Nora, Elin, Alexander, Connor, Lilly, Ben, Hannah, Owen, Aubrey, Oliva, Serenity, Nora, Penelope, Zoey, Isaac, Myles, and Maisie. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, siblings- Slyvester Schneider, Sr. Hildegard Bassicilia Schneider, Frances Schneider, Gilbert Schneider, Estella Nett, Alex Schneider, her son in law Larry Kikkert and granddaughter Julie Heinecke.
