Thomas K. Jahnke

Thomas Kenneth Jahnke, age 84, of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at his home in Fox Lake after a very long illness.

Funeral Services for Tom will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation for Tom will be held at church on Monday, July 6,2026 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Following the service, interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon. A luncheon will follow back at St. Stephen’s after interment.

Tom was born the son of Howard and Winifred (St. Peter) Jahnke on December 21, 1941.

He was united in marriage to Sally (Bartelt) Haessly in 2001 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fox Lake.

Tom was very active in his community and took great pride in everything he did. He was a member of the Fox Lake EMS and the Fox Lake Fire department for over 34 years. He served as an Alderman on the city council for years. Tom drove school bus for Fox Lake/Waupun for 54 years.

Tom loved being outside, mowing his yard with his John Deere tractor. He enjoyed playing cards and taking occasional gambling trips. Tom was a huge NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhart Sr. being his favorite driver.

Tom is survived by his wife Sally Jahnke; children: Dawn Ebert, Tommy Jahnke, Pam Velarde, Robert (Barbara) Haessly Jr., and Maggie (Dan) Drewa. Maggie was truly Tom’s angel on Earth. She put her life on pause to lovingly care for him and support Sally over
the past year. Tom is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He especially loved his granddaughter, Sophia Drewa (Peanut).

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers.
