Todd William Smith

Todd W. Smith, age 42, of Horicon, returned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

The memorial gathering will be at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The memorial service will follow at the church on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating.

Todd William Smith was born on December 23, 1970 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Otto Robertson and Mary Jane Janz. He was confirmed at St. Stephen”s in Fall River and was a 1989 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On August 21, 1993 he was united in marriage with Shannon Kiekhaefer at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon. Todd was raising his family in Horicon where he was active as a coach for the high school and St. Stephen School, coaching football, basketball, and softball. He enjoyed hunting and sports but he mostly enjoyed his time with his family. Todd was always generous and would volunteer his time when it was needed. He enjoyed the nights he tended bar at Mayor Bob”s in Rolling Prairie. Todd was employed at KS Energy Services in New Berlin. He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon.

Survivors are his wife, Shannon and their three children, Heaven, Haley, and William, of Horicon; mother, Mary Jane (Jim) Lau of Beaver Dam; brothers, Lee (Gloria) of Beaver Dam, Pat of Beaver Dam, Jay (Susan) of Middleton, and Chris of Fox Lake; parents-in-law, Bill and Penny Kiekhaefer of Horicon; sister-in-law, Billye (Dan) Survis of Slinger; grandfather-in-law, Merlin “Pete” Kiekhaefer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents.

I remember my cousin Isabelle (Sandy) as a beautiful little girl who was almost 7 years younger than I was. Our name was Sanderson, so I was also nicknamed Sandy. Unfortunately I didn't see her very often because I live in California but I always enjoyed visiting with her when we went to Wisconsin. She will be sadly missed.
