Virginia “Ginger” Mittelstadt

Virginia A. “Ginger” Mittelstadt, age 78, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

There will be a gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Ed Cody officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Virginia Ann was born on October 23, 1946 in Illinois to Everette and Delores (Linton) Schermer. She was united in marriage with Leon S. Mittelstadt on June 3, 1967 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beave Dam. She worked briefly at JC Penny in Milwaukee then on to her most important role of being a mother. Ginger worked for a short time at Cheesman’s Factory in Sun Prairie and Friday Canning Company in Cambria as well. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and arts and crafts. Later in life, she really enjoyed her puzzle books.

Virginia is survived by her children, Abraham (Kathy) Mittelstadt of Beaver Dam, Bruce Mittelstadt of Beaver Dam, Sue Anne (John) Davies of Wapella, IL, and Virgie Dinger of Beaver Dam; brothers, Steven Schermer of Vine Grove, KY and Michael Shermer of Clinton, IL; sister, Kathy (Nick) Njegovan of Croatia; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon in 2018; granddaughter, Rebecca; sister, Wilma; brothers, William and Robert (Patti) Schermer; and sister-in-law, Jeanie Schermer.
