Services: Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd, Beaver Dam, and also on Wednesday, April 9th at St. Katharine Drexel Parish from 10:30 -11:20 a.m.

Walter L. Haas, 77, of Beaver Dam passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Sylvan Crossings, Beaver Dam.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Father Mike Erwin officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd, Beaver Dam, and also on Wednesday, April 9th at St. Katharine Drexel Parish from 10:30 to 11:20 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Walter Leo Haas was born the son of Henry and Margaret (Patzlsberger) Haas on March 15, 1937 in Madison, WI. He was united in marriage to Marian Bahr on May 9, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lost Lake. Wally was employed at Metal Fab as a welder, retiring in 1998.

Wally enjoyed genealogy, traveling, and learned to speak and read German. He was very enthusiastic about his German heritage. Wally loved tending to and caring for his home, and was very devoted to his family.

Walter is survived by: his wife- Marian of Beaver Dam; his children- Jeffrey (Lin Marie) Haas of West Bend, Jean (Gordon) Brown of Bend, OR, and Mike Haas of Madison; his brothers- Robert (Beverly) Haas of Beaver Dam, Jim (Nancy) Haas of Freeland, WA, and Jerry (Sue) Haas of Horicon; his grandchildren- Tyler (Jessi) Larsen and Matthew (Ashley) Larsen; his 3 great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Sylvan Crossings and Hillside Hospice for the exceptional care that was given to Wally.

I am so sorry to read of the passing of your loved one.
