William A. Griepentrog

William A. Griepentrog, 71 years old, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Browns Corner) in Horicon, with Pastor Richard J. Boeck, Jr. officiating. A visitation will take place on Thursday, March 2 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery in Mayville.William was born the son of Arthur and Frieda (Bliefuss) Griepentrog on March 15, 1945 in Hartford. He was a 1963 graduate of Horicon High School. William was united in marriage to Delores Loest on August 7, 1971 at St. Peters in Kekoskee. He worked as a painter at Metalcraft of Mayville for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the National Guard. William was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (Browns Corner) in Horicon. In his spare time William enjoyed playing cards, word search, and fishing.William is survived by his sons- Brian (Laurie) Griepentrog of Horicon and Daniel (Angela) Griepentrog of Fond du Lac. His granddaughter- Lexie. 4 step grandchildren. His sister- Jeanette Welak. Sister in law- Evelyn (Donald) Chapman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.William is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sister Doris (Manfred) Kruel, brother in law Gene Welak, and sister in law Lucille Wiese.Special thanks to the staff of Harbor Haven in Fond du Lac and St. Agnes Hospital for all of their care and support.
