William “Bill” Rayome

William “Bill” L. Rayome, 69 years old, of Iron Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, with the Rev. Father Michael Petrie presiding. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22nd at Sacred Heart Parish from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., and also on Monday, November 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 noon Mass. Bill was born on January 10, 1946 to Arnold and Florence (Mackaben) Rayome in Wisconsin Rapids. He was a 1964 graduate of Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids, and a 1968 graduate of U.W. LaCrosse. Bill was united in marriage to Frances Fatla on June 8, 1968 in Rockford, IL. Bill was employed by and retired from Steel Craft in Hartford as the HR Manager. Along with his wife Fran, he owned and operated Iron Ridge Bowling Lanes for 15 years.Bill was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woodland where he also taught religion classes for a number of years. He was a member of the Iron Ridge Fire Dept & served as President and Trustee on the Village Board. He also served on the Horicon School Board. He coached Iron Ridge Little League for 7 years. Bill really enjoyed his yearly trip to Arizona with Fran, family & friends where they would golf and watch the Brewers in spring training. He went to numerous Packer & Badger games with his brother Mike. Bill loved to watch his grandkids succeed in playing sports, dance & band concerts. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.Bill is survived by: his wife Frances of 47 years; his children – Marie (Dave) Gill of Oshkosh, Greg Rayome of Iron Ridge, Ann (Brian) Krapfl of LeRoy, Dan (Missy) Rayome of Juneau, Jenny (Cary) Curro of Horicon, and Sarah (Matt) Grotelueschen of Iron Ridge; his brothers & sisters – Barb Green, Pat (John) Neuberger, Jim Rayome, Tom (Mary) Rayome, Mike (Wendy) Rayome, Kathy (Nate) McDaniel, Mary (Mike) Romag; his brother-in-law – Albert (Mary) Fatla; his grandchildren- Sydney, Matt & Ellie Gill; Kristina, Steven, & Brandon Rayome; Ashley, Emily, Nick, & Joe Struck and Kaylee Krapfl; Taylor & Hailey Rayome; Haiden Curro; Victoria Buechel; Ava, Layla & Elaina Grotelueschen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Bill is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Florence Rayome, his mother & father-in-law Joseph & Louise Fatla, his granddaughter Megan Gill, his nieces Jessica Romag & Kris Fatla, his brother-in-law Kent Green, and his sister-in-law Carolyn Rayome.The family would like to thank all the staff at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc for their wonderful care for Bill during his stay there.
