William P. Stewart

September 7, 1934 - October 24, 2006

Reeseville – William J. “BJ” Stewart, age 72, of Reeseville, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.

Friends and family may call at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans” Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin on Friday at 1:30 PM.

William Joseph Stewart was born on September 7, 1934 in Pocatello, Idaho to the late Joseph W. and Margaret (Garcia) Stewart. Following graduation from high school, he served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War. “BJ” worked for Lindberg in Watertown and later for K & L Services in Beaver Dam, until he retired at the age of 62. He also worked with his wife at her embroidery business, J&L Lettering. “BJ” loved to watch old movies and he also enjoyed traveling and going gambling with his wife. He was a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Stewart of Reeseville; his son, Brian (Genia) Stewart of Springfield, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyle Stewart; three brothers, Thomas Stewart of California, Michael Stewart of Wisconsin and John Stewart of Oregon; his sister-in-law, Mary (Bernie) Merkle of Highland, Illinois, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Stewart.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in William J. Stewart”s name to the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 in Beaver Dam.
