Adrian C. Weisensel

Adrian C. Weisensel, age 85, died at The Christian Home in Waupun on July 8, 2025, following a short battle with kidney cancer.

Visitation will be at St. Peter Catholic Church, 208 E. Washington Street in Slinger, on Monday July 14, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will take place at St. Isadore Cemetery near Clyman.

Adrian Carl Weisensel was born on May 10, 1940, on the family farm in Clyman to Ignatius and Eleanora (Ruffies) Weisensel. After graduating from Juneau High School in 1958, Adrian joined the United States Army; he served from 1958 to 1962. Adrian then entered the workforce at American Breeders Service near DeForest. Shortly after, he began his career in the banking business. He started at Thorp Finance before working at First National Bank, and then Independence Bank, all in Elkhorn. He then returned to this area to work at Commercial State Bank in Iron Ridge. Later, Horicon Bank purchased Commercial State Bank and Adrian stayed on for the next 20+ years, retiring as a Vice President in 2007.

Adrian was an active member of the community. He was a past member of the Iron Ridge Lions Club, the Dodge County Antique Power Club in Burnett, and was a past president of the Horicon School Board. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger, the VFW in Elkhorn, and the American Legion in Horicon. In retirement, he remained active in the Power Club, the Lions and the Legion. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and will be remembered for driving his golf cart around the 20 acres with his dog Kiwi at his side. Adrian was an avid Ford fan and also enjoyed tinkering with his antique Ford 1960 Model 861 tractor. He had a mind that never stopped, and he was very creative; he always had a story to tell and there was always some project that he was engineering around the house. But most of all, Adrian loved his family and he cherished the time spent with them.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Weisensel of Hubertus; two children, Timothy (Jill) Weisensel of Juneau and Nicolette Weisensel, MD of Hubertus; three grandchildren, Chaunston Weisensel of Waukesha, Lyndon (Hailey) Weisensel of Beaver Dam, and Madalayne Weisensel of Juneau; a great granddaughter, Kinley Weisensel; his two dogs, Kiwi and Carrot; other relatives and friends. Adrian was preceded in death by his parents and his 10 siblings, Cyrilla Reed, Marita Haase, Marylin Meyer, Magdalin Maynard, Marcellus Weisensel, Linas Weisensel, Bernard Weisensel, Ignatius Weisensel, Donald Weisensel, Leon Weisensel, and Arnold Weisensel.
