Alexandria “Alex” Dankert

Alexandria E. Dankert, age 27, formerly of Mayville, died unexpectedly on May 12, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam.

There will be a gathering to celebrate Alex’s life at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Alexandria Elizabeth entered the world on November 2, 1998, in Brookfield, Wisconsin to Rich “Stitchy” and Kathy (Brandt) Dankert. She was raised in Mayville alongside her sister, Natalie, who was not only her sibling, but her lifelong best friend. Together they filled their childhood with laughter, adventure, and memories that would stay close to their hearts forever. Alex graduated from Mayville High School in 2017, carrying with her the kindness and gentle spirit that so many came to know and love.

Music was woven deeply into Alex’s life. Whether singing with the show choir or playing her trumpet in the school band, she found joy in every note and shared that joy freely with those around her. Summers brought some of her happiest moments — long days swimming at Crystal Lake Beach and treasured visits to her grandmother’s farm in Phillips, where she loved the peaceful country air, riding 4-wheelers, and simply being surrounded by family and nature. She also cherished riding on the back of her dad’s motorcycle, holding tightly as they made memories together on open roads.

Alex had a curious and tender heart. She collected rocks throughout her life, often tucking her newest treasures into her pockets — much to her mother’s discovery before laundry day. It was one of the many little things that made Alex uniquely herself.

Above all, Alex loved deeply. She had a special place in her heart for children and devoted her time working as a childcare provider in the Columbus area, where her warmth and gentle nature touched many young lives. Her family and friends meant everything to her, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Alex is survived by her parents, Stitchy and Kathy Dankert of Fox Lake; sister, Natalie (Hunter) Augustine of Iron Ridge; grandma, Suzanne Brandt of Phillips; uncle, Billy Brandt of Medford; boyfriend, Jonny Kohlhoff of Fox Lake; her beloved cat, Smudge; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
