Alton A. Hanefeld, 80 years, of Burnett passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Burnett, with the Rev. Steven Thomas officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam and on Wednesday, October 29th from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
Alton was born the son of Alfred and Lillian (Matthes) Hanefeld on April 21, 1928 in Horicon, WI. He was married to Violet J. Trumpf on March 31, 1951 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Burnett, WI. Alton was a lifelong member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Burnett.
Alton began his career as a dairy farmer on the Hanefeld family farm. He then began working for Gardner Mfg. in Horicon as a truck driver for 28 years until his retirement in 1992. After his retirement, he also drove truck for Larry Grebel. Alton belonged to the IAM Union and was a delegate for the 2054 lodge of Gardner Mfg. Throughout his life, he always lived and loved his family farm.
Alton is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Violet, his sons: Gary (Londa) Hanefeld of Beaver Dam, Ricky (Denise) Hanefeld of Beaver Dam, his daughter Pamela (Paul Szopinski) Pitzlin of Juneau; 10 grandchildren: Cody, Austin, Nick, Kelly, Amber, Danielle, Candi, Sierra, Aimee and Breanna; four great grandchildren: his special great grandson Mason, Collin, Hayden and Taria; further survived by his niece Karen and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Susan in 1975, one brother, two sisters, and one nephew.
He was the best loving Dad and Grandpa in life.
