Alva R. Rabehl, 86, of Watertown went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
A memorial gathering for Alva will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd, Beaver Dam. A memorial service will begin at Noon with the Rev. Anthony Schultz officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton, Wisconsin.
Alva Ruth was born on July 10, 1936 the daughter of Alwin and Lydia (Zempel) Degner in Murdo, South Dakota. Alva was a 1954 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and a 1957 graduate of Milwaukee Hospital School of Nursing. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Business. Alva had a very rewarding career in Critical Care Nursing and Nursing Administration in Denver, Colorado.
On June 1, 2003, she was united in marriage with Jack L. Rabehl. They were blessed with 20 years together. Alva was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, Wisconsin.
Alva is survived by her husband Jack; step daughter Leann Jane (Scott) Buchanan of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Buchanan, Kayla Paige Buchanan, Caleb Scott Buchanan and Christian Lee Buchanan; her sisters: Doris (Pete) Westra of Beaver Dam and Lois (Jerry) Plitzuweit of Lake Mills; sister-in-law Peggy Ann (James) Beisner of Georgia. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alwin and Lydia Degner and her sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Elmer Neitzel.
