Anna G. Schmidt, 94, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at her son’s home in Madison, Wisconsin. Anna G. Schmidt, 94, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at her son’s home in Madison, Wisconsin.
Anna was born on September 14, 1929 the daughter of Gustave and Anna (Likeric) Braun in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was raised in Juneau and Beaver Dam. Anna graduated from Beaver Dam High School. On September 10, 1949, she was married to Orville F. Schmidt at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. They enjoyed 72 years of marriage until Orville’s passing on Aug. 6, 2020.
Anna and Orville farmed together in the town of Trenton for many years, moving to Beaver Dam in 1988. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening, especially her flower beds. Anna took exceptional care of her husband Orville throughout the years. Anna also loved spending time with her cat, Benji.
Anna will be deeply missed by her son Ken Schmidt of Madison; her daughter Diane Ziemer of Appleton; grandson Matthew (Caitlyn) Ziemer of San Francisco, CA and granddaughter Katie (Dan) Hagenow of Reedsville, WI; nieces: Lynette (Roger) Johnson and Lou Ann Shaw; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville, son-in-law Dean Ziemer, brother and sister-in-law: Merlin and Isabella Schmidt.
Private family services will be held for Anna. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Wisconsin.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison and to Agrace Hospice in Madison for their wonderful and compassionate care of Anna. Your kindness will always be remembered.

Both Ann and Orville were such wonderful neighbors on Hiawatha. So one day I am out tending my flowers and Ann came across the street to me.
She asked if I would accept tickets to a Brewers game. She knew that we love baseball. She had won 4 tickets to a game at Family Field DewDeck." That means that 4 people could get all the eats including brats, dogs, salads, varied snacks, soda and some beer and sit in the Dew area deep upper right field. Well, my sister was visiting from MT along with our grandson,my husband and myself enjoyed a Brewer wins and lunch thanks to Ann. She refused to take any payment. That was only one example of her and Orville's generous spirit.
