Anna Louise Hamilton, age 92, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 12, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona. She was born in 1930, in Washington, Missouri. The daughter of Paul Taft Pritchard and Mary Magdalene “Maggie” Pritchard (nee Mitchell), Louise, as she was known to friends and family, was a devoted wife, loving mother, joyful sister, and faithful friend. A talented gardener, she enjoyed tending her plants in Missouri. As skillful as she was in helping plants to grow, she helped others grow in their faith, serving as the Education Director of the Byers Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a member of the congregation for 33 years, as well as being a member of the Diamond Methodist Church later in life. She doted on her grandchildren, and taught them to experience joy in all things, whether she was teaching them to pick her home-grown green beans or how to bake the world’s best peach cobbler. Louise was married to Howard N. “Nelson” Chandler in Lawrence County, Missouri on October 30, 1949. Together they raised a son, Gen. Carrol Howard Chandler (USAF, ret.). After Nelson passed on January 12, 1987, Louise was remarried to Clarence “Sam” Hamilton, and together they spent many happy years on their farm in Carthage, Missouri. Surviving her are her son and daughter-in-law: Gen. Carrol Howard Chandler (USAF, ret.) and Mrs. Eva-Marie Chandler; her sister and brother-in-law: Mrs. Veta Jo Covert and CMSgt James O. Covert (USAF, ret.) of Gilbert, Arizona; her grandchildren, Mr. Carl Martin Chandler and his wife Mrs. Kelly Ann Chandler of Fairfax, Virginia, Ms. Rosemaire Louise Chandler of Kailua, Hawaii, and 1st Lieutenant Thomas Carrol Chandler (USAF) of Del Rio, Texas; and her nephew and niece-in-law, Rev. Paul Covert and Mrs. Anne Covert of Gilbert, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Nelson Chandler; her second husband, Clarence “Sam” Hamilton; and her parents. A funeral for Louise will be held on December 15, 2023 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin with the Rev. Patricia Lyon officiating.
