Annie E. Raatz, age 86, died on Monday, October 29, 2007 in Mayville.
Friends and family may gather for a visitation on Monday, November 5, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 4:00 PM until the time of service. The funeral service will be held on Monday at the church at 7:00 PM with President Fred Ruka officiating. Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in Oakwood Cemetery, Town of Beaver Dam, at 9:00 AM.
The former Annie Elizabeth Harrington was born on March 24, 1921 in Pago Pago, American Samoa, to the late William and Annie E. (Kenison) Harrington. While living in Honolulu, she met Donald A. Raatz, Sr. and they were united in marriage on July 19, 1948. They moved to Wisconsin shortly after marriage and raised their family in Minnesota Junction. Annie was a Primary worker and also the Sunday School secretary at the LDS church for many years. After her husband”s death in 1982, she served three missions in the Samoan Temple for her church. She loved orchids and wore floral lays around her neck. Annie was a strong, independent woman and who loved to travel all over the world even when she was ill. She had a kind, loving spirit and we will miss her smile and her hugs.
Annie is survived by her son, David Raatz, Horicon, and his children, Rhianna M. Raatz, St. Paul, MN, Leah E. Raatz, St. Paul, MN and David J. Raatz, St. Louis, MO, her daughter-in-law, Sue Raatz, West Bend and her three children, Paul D. Raatz, Milwaukee, Michael T. Raatz, West Bend, and Kimberly A. Raatz, West Bend, her sisters and brothers, Adeline Ahmu, CA, Lena Cairns, CA, Christina La Laolagi, CA, Peter Harrington, CA, Tom Harrington, CA and Ben Harrington, TX. She is further survived by her two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Fern, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Raatz was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, a son, Donald, brothers and sisters.
