Ardella A. Kronenberg

January 31, 1920 - July 30, 2007

Ardella A. Kronenberg, age 87, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2007, surrounded by family and friends at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2007, at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam, from 9:30AM to 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM at the church. Fr. Carlos Florez will officiate and burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery.

Ardella Ann Sawyer was born on January 31, 1920, in Muscoda, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Munz) Sawyer. Ardella was a 1938 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On July 2, 1949, she was united in marriage to Fred Kronenberg at St. Peter”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.

She was the office manager for Dr. James Scheder for 23 years, retiring in 1991. She was an active member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and a member of the Catholic Women, Daughters of Isabella, New Life Choir, Human Concerns Committee, National Day of Prayer Committee, a Teacher”s Assistant and a money counter. Ardella also was active with Meals on Wheels, a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years, volunteered at the Care Center, Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam Community Hospital and the Red Cross Blood Drive. She especially enjoyed gardening, volunteering and singing. She was a resident at Hillside Manor for the last 18 months. Special thanks go to the caring staff at both the Hillside Manor and Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Survivors include her daughter, Kaye Wagner of Baileys Harbor, WI, her sister, Marcella Bishanell of Menomonee Falls, her brother, Don (Natalie) Sawyer of Chesterland, Ohio, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ardella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred Kronenberg in 1972, and two sisters, May Menick and Betty Sawyer.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Ardella”s name to The Music Scholarship Fund at the Beaver Dam High School, Hillside Manor Activity Fund, or the Landscape and Garden Fund at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Door County.

Dear Kaye, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom passing away. I always enjoyed running into her when I came back to Beaver Dam and I could hear her say "Well, Donna "Shlutz" how have you been?" and she would beam me one of her smiles and give me a hug! and then she would brag about her Kaye! I''m going into the 5th grade at St. Katharine Drexel School. Last year when I was in 4th grade, my class went to Hillside Manor every month to visit our resident buddies. Ardella was mine and I had a lot of fun talking with her. She was really nice. She made me a pinwheel made out of a pencil. Bingo was really fun and we won pennies when we won.
