Arnold C. Hammer, age 91, of Waupun, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
In honoring Arnie’s wishes, a private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Arnie was born the son of George and Elsie (Kuenzi) Hammer in Beaver Dam on June 27, 1933. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Arnie honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Strobusch on August 27, 1968, in Iowa at The Little Brown Church.
Arnie was a caring, giving person. He was a ray of sunshine and could always be found with a smile on his face. Arnie loved meeting people and talking with them. He enjoyed sharing stories and going for car rides just to get out and about. Arnie also was an avid walker. He will be sorely missed by all of his family and all of the people who were lucky enough to get to know him.
Arnie is survived by his children: Steve Christians; Marlee Christians, Deborah (Jerry) Hays, Mike (Ellen) Christians, Rick Christians, Jon (Robin Christians, and Kim (Amy) Christians; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Marci Kastenmeier, Diane Lueck, Mary (Dennis) Gruelke, Joe (Kathy) Hammer, Barb Hammer, and Ed (Barb) Hammer. Arnie was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Arnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geraldine; brothers: Eugene, Tom, John, David, and Donald; his daughter Cheryl; and grandson Shawn Christians.
