Barbara R. Wegner, 77, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Horicon passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Charleston House Memory Care.
Barbara was born on August 19, 1946 in Beaver Dam to Harold and Elizabeth (Berndt) Nehring. She was a graduate of Horicon High School. Barb was married to James Wegner on October 16, 1971 in Horicon. She was employed with John Deere of Horicon and later with the Horicon School District until her retirement.
Barb was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Horicon. She volunteered her time working election polls in Horicon. Barb was an avid knitter and taught knitting classes. She enjoyed spending time up north at the cabin where she and Jim enjoyed snowmobiling. Barb was an animal lover and supported animal causes. She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden around the house. Barb loved decorating for Christmas. She loved being a grandma.
Barb is survived by her husband Jim of Beaver Dam; two sons: Josh (Mollie) Wegner of Beaver Dam and Brad (Melissa) Wegner of Verona; two grandsons: Caleb and Isaac; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles Nehring.
It was Barb’s family’s wish that no formal funeral services be held and cremation is to take place.

Barb and I were classmates and friends in youth activities at the First Presbyterian church in Horicon. Later on she knit very beautiful Christmas stockings for me and several of out family which were gifts my Mom asked Barb to knit. We cherish them to this day.
