Beverly A. Drake

Beverly A. (Bender) Drake, 79, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at her home. Bev was born on March 2, 1938 in Beaver Dam and was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was married to Wayne Drake on October 9, 1971 at Zion United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam. Bev was employed with Schultz Bros. in Beaver Dam for many years. She loved to babysit and take care of many children throughout the years. Bev was a member of Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam. She was an avid league bowler for many years and loved to watch the Green Bay Packers. Bev enjoyed going to casinos with her husband Wayne. She will be remembered for making her Christmas cookies. Bev is survived by her husband, Wayne of Beaver Dam; her goddaughter, Gloria Weier-Linke of Beaver Dam; her aunt, Doris Bender; her brother-in-law, Theodore Drake; her sister-in-law, Nina Bender; and further survived by other relatives and good friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father: Florene and James “Les” Deyo; her infant son, Wayne Matthew Drake; her brother, Dennis Bender; and her aunts and uncles: Ed and Lorna Tesch, Fred Bender Jr., Evelyn and Fritz Bublitz, and Florence and Joseph Hasenstab. A visitation will be held at Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12 p.m. The Rev. Cherie Forret will officiate. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton with a luncheon to follow at the church. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice. Bev’s family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for all their care and support over the past two years, especially Melissa, Alex and Paula.
