I miss you Carl. Your the best teacher I have ever had. You were the best instructor that Mercury could have hired. You taught all of your students how to be more proficient at ours jobs, how to analyze problems, not to waist time and making things more difficult than they really are just keep it simple. I still use the things you taught me years ago everyday. You have made a major impact on all of our lives, and our lives are better that you were our teacher, and you did it because you loved to not that it was your job but because you are one of the most generous and giving man I ever met. I am one hell of a better mechanic because of you. Too bad you didn't teach better grammar and sentence structure. I would have learned from you and my words of appreciation for you would have flowed more eloquent and let everyone know the high regard I have for you. I love you Man. John Hallberg

I just found out about Carl's passing and am very sad I didn't attend the wake and funeral to give my condolences. My heart goes out to his wonderful family. God has taken him into His kingdom I'm sure. He just got there before we did. I pray God will provide comfort for all who knew and cared for Carl. He was my friend.

Heartwrenching. I see through smiling boy having the time of his life on the Dye Family Farm. While farmwork did not appeal, having fun did. He had a way if lightening the load for all of us. Deepest regret from the entire bevy of Dye Cousins, Nebraska, Texas and PA.

Rest in peace, old friend! I grew up with Carl and went to church with him for many years. Our parents were good friends so it was only natural that we'd be good friends too. I was so happy to reconnect via Facebook a few years ago. I remember him fondly and all the crazy times we had together. You will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

I got to know Carl and Nelle when they owned a shop in Des Moines. Allison and I were always welcome and Carl gave me the best part of the job. The tear down! I had no idea how to put the darn thing back together, but thats what Carl was good at! We lost touch when they moved, but I always heard good things.. He will be missed...

Dear extended Clifton family, Carl was always one of my favorite kids in the neighborhood. Witty, funny, kind, clever, helpful, creative, and generous. My heart broke when I saw he has left this world far, far too soon. Lots of great memories from the time he was a little blond guy toddling along, through high school and beyond. Let's challenge everyone who appreciated Carl to go do something nice for others, some random act of kindness that he would have done and never expected anything in return. Thinking of you all and whispering some prayers for you.

Carl, You were my junior high crush and use to ride your bike to my house to hang out. I was so happy to reconnect on FB so many years later and see where life had taken you.
