Carol L. Barker, 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 02, 2024 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.
Carol was born on May 12, 1943 in Milwaukee to Aaron and Olive (Burgett) Palmer. She was married to Thomas Powers and later to Paul Barker who preceded her in death. Carol was employed as a waitress and also owned and operated the West Shore Inn in Fox Lake for many years where she enjoyed being around people.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed scrapbooking, loved to bowl, and play cards where she was a master of cribbage. She also loved dogs. Carol had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around. She loved her family and was a great friend.
Carol is survived by her sons: Scott (Pamela) Powers of Gainesville, MO and Randy (Traci) Powers of Beaver Dam; grandchildren: Abigail (David Lang) Powers, Elisabeth (Caleb) Rozeboom, and Lily Powers; a great grandchild on the way; and is further survived by her sister Barbara Palmer as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands: Thomas Powers and Paul Barker.
A celebration of Carol’s life will take place at a later date.
