Carol L. Baumgartner passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home, with her life-partner by her side, after losing her battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life for Carol will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Astico County Park Sites #46 and #47. Astico Park is 3 miles East of Columbus on Hwy 60 and County Road TT.
Carol was the daughter of Gerald & Joanne (nee Schulteis), born on November 3, 1962. She graduated from Germantown High School in 1979. In 1992, she would begin her life-long journey with partner Thomas Weidner.
Carol had a wonderful and full life. A go-getter, she had many jobs. Truck driver, bartender/owner, seamstress and her final dream job of campground attendant/host.
She loved her family and friends foremost. Being at a campground meeting new people, riding motorcycles or listening to live music were things that filled her with happiness. But she would never say no to privately relaxing for a day at the beach. She always had a big heart for dogs and cats – as she had many throughout her life.
She is survived by partner Tom, her mother Joanne (nee Schulteis), brother David of Halingen, TX, Michael (Lynn) of Union Grove, WI and sister Janice Peterson (Jeff) of Hartford, WI. She is also survived Aunts, Uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carol is preceded in death by her father Gerald, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

You all have my deepest sympathies. I met Carol while camping, and it didn't take long to see what an amazing person she was. I loved spending time with!! We had so much fun! I am blessed to have known her. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Was very sad to hear of Carol's passing. Spent many good times with her, in the bars, before I moved out of Hartford. We shot a lot of pool throughout the years. After I left Hartford I didn't see her but was blessed to go see her at the campground she managed last summer thanks to a friend. Was so great to see her and Preacher after many years. Rest in peace Carol. You were always a true friend of mine and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Sorry for your loss Preacher and both your families loss also.
