Catherine A. Pasewald, age 92, formerly of Lowell, was escorted to the gates of heaven by her Guardian Angel on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. The visitation will be at Reeseville Community Center on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a rosary prayer at 4:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at Reeseville Community Center on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There will be a closing ceremony at 10:30 a.m. and a formal procession will follow to Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at the church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Erick Cassiano officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Lowell. Catherine Anna Bartosch was born on February 17, 1925 in Waterloo, Wisconsin to Emil and Mary (nee: Haberman) Bartosch. On April 12, 1944, she was united in marriage with Robert W. Pasewald in Waterloo. They made their home in Lowell where they raised their 12 children. Catherine was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville and was active in the Altar Society and was a member of the Lowell Homemakers. Catherine served on the election board for many years. After Robert’s passing, Catherine was lucky enough to find love a second time and was united in marriage with Eldon Rode on July 30, 2005. Catherine enjoyed gardening and crafts but mostly enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. Catherine is survived by 11 children, Robert (Ada) of Ixonia, Mary Jo Schoenwetter of Johnson Creek, John (Ann) of Beaver Dam, David (Sue) of Horicon, Leanne (Stephen) Honish of Tomah, Cynthia (Roderick) Haines of Tomah, Jeanie (John) Schnitzler of Theresa, Charles (Cheryl) of Park Falls, Alan (Kim) of Lowell, Edward (Deborah) of Reeseville, and Steven (Kerry) of Beaver Dam; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step grandchildren; sister, Theresa Busse of Fitchburg; sisters-in-law, Jo Ellen Pasewald of Horicon and Geneva Rode of Cambria; step children, Gary (Maureen) Rode of Lisco, NE, and Dawn (Dale Postuma) Rode of Cambria; special friends, Carl Wendtland of Wautoma and Steven and Cynthia Boeck of Park Falls; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Ida; both husbands; a son, James; a granddaughter, Christina Pasewald; a son-in-law, William G. Schoenwetter, sister, Margaret Kraetzner-Rudolph; two step brothers and two step sisters. If desired, memorials may be made in Catherine A. Pasewald’s name to Holy Family Catholic Church.
