Chester Chet W. Weinheimer, 63, of Beaver Dam passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at University Hospitals in Madison.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Dr. Mark J. Molldrem officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until Noon at the church. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam with graveside military honors conducted by the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 of Beaver Dam.
Chester William was born the son of Harley E. and Betty Lou M. (Zwieg) Weinheimer on December 2, 1949 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1967 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Chet served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Guam as an air passenger specialist. He received the Meritorious Service Award in 1972. Chet was later married to Beverly Hoffman on July 29, 1977 in Beaver Dam. He was employed with John Deere as a fork lift driver for 33 years.
Chet was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam where he served as a confirmation instructor for three years. He served as a sergeant for the Beaver Dam Auxiliary policemen for 21 years. Chet was a sanctioned WIAA referee for both football and basketball for 16 years. Chet was president of the Puckaway Rod and Gun Club for 18 years. Chet also built and was lead pit steward for the Beaver Dam Raceway for five years.
Chet is survived by his wife, Bev of Beaver Dam; his son Andy Weinheimer of Horicon and his fianc饬 Kelly Christian and her children: Alec and Peyton of Horicon; his sister, Tina (Brett Plummer) Weinheimer of Fox Lake; his father-in-law, Matt Hoffman of Iron Ridge; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Matt (Carol) Hoffman Jr., Jerry (Taddy) Hoffman, Pat Grissman, John (Beve) Hoffman, Norita Hoffman, and Tony (Bonnie) Hoffman; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Evelyn Hoffman, and his brothers-in-law: Bob Hoffman, Jack Grissman and Roger Kuehl.
