Christa Anna Polzin (nee Redl), of Beaver Dam, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13th, 2023, at Greentree Health and Rehab/Hospice in Clintonville, WI with her daughters by her side. She was 75. Christa was born on August 14, 1947, in Bayreuth, Germany. In her early years, she worked in a butcher shop. She was introduced by her brother, Peter, to the love of her life while he was stationed in the military. This is where their love story began. In 1973, they were united in marriage and shortly after relocated to the United States. Together, their marriage was blessed with two daughters. For most of their early years, they resided in Horicon before moving to Beaver Dam. Christa proudly became a US citizen in 2000. She took pride in studying for her citizenship and had a vast knowledge of the history of the United States. You could ask her anything and she would know the answer. Christa was a strong woman who overcame many hurdles in her life. She was a selfless giver and a faithful servant of the Lord. Christa was both incredible and inspiring in all she achieved. Christa loved her family. She was happiest when everyone was together. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow. Holidays were always special, and her traditions will live on through her daughters. Christa took pride in her flower gardens and especially enjoyed seeing the wildlife in her yard. She particularly loved visits from cardinals. She also enjoyed listening to music and watching a good Hallmark movie.
Christa is survived by her daughters Cynthia Goetsch of Shawano and Patricia (Paul) Rajchel of Waukesha: her grandchildren, Joshua (Madelyn), Brianna, & Kerstin Goetsch, also Jax and Grace Rajchel; her siblings, Monika, Peter, Manfred, Klaus, Claudia, Helmut, Susanne, and Andreas. She will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family members.
Christa was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Donald; her parents, Leopold and Anna Redl, and her sister Adele.
She will be missed beyond belief because she was loved beyond measures. Christa will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and soul mate. We will celebrate Christa’s life on Saturday April 15 at 11:00 am, with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam, WI with Pastor Paul C. Stratman officiating the ceremony. Condolences can be sent to N7199 North Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements. Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home of Beaver Dam is assisting family with services.
In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made in Christa’s name to the Dodge County Humane Society in Juneau, WI.
John 11: 25-26
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.”
