Clem Germann

Clem A. Germann, age 89, of Fox Lake, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday at the Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael L. Wild officiating. Burial will be at Annunciation Cemetery, Lost Lake with the Randolph VFW Post #9510 presenting military honors.

Clem A. Germann was born on April 28, 1920 to Pete M. and Caroline A. (Stark) Germann in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Lake Geneva High School. Clem entered the Army Air Force, during WWII, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1945, receiving honors which included a Good Conduct medal, American Defense Service medal, and a European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal. On December 5, 1942, Clem was united in marriage with Gertrude A. Spack in South Milwaukee. He worked as an Immigration Inspector for the INS. Clem was an avid bowler, bowling into his early 80”s. He also played in fast-pitch softball leagues as a pitcher. Clem was a member of Annunciation Parish in Fox Lake.

Survivors are his son, John (Linda) Germann, Kenosha, Jane Germann, Fox Lake, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Rose Germann, Lake Geneva, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude in 1991, parents, one brother and four sisters.

John and Jane. I can''t begin to tell you how very much your Dad meant to our family. He was so special in so many ways. My kids always loved it when he came to visit because that meant a walk to the woods with their great-uncle. Now when it thunders, I can tell kids it''s not God bowling, it''s Uncle Clem! Hello cousins Jane and John, We loved Uncle Clem so much and know what angels you were to him. I hardly know a better, more true smile than his. I will miss him greatly- our 4 children will always know who that happy guy is in their scrapbooks, blowing bubbles like he was a kid again... he always was, at heart. We love you all.
