Deb was born the daughter of Robert Ahrens and Beverly Lange (Lamb) on June 13, 1953, in Zumbrota, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Horicon High School class of 1971. On August 27, 1977, Deb was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, soulmate, and best friend, Thomas “Toby” Anfinson, at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon where they remained faithful members.
Deb worked for many years at LeRoy Meats where she became a familiar and friendly face to many. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the people she met along the way.
Deb loved flowers and truly had a green thumb. She loved watching birds, taking special delight in the hummingbirds and making sure her feeders were always filled for them. Goldfinches were another favorite, and she enjoyed seeing them in her yard. Her flowers were beautifully kept and tended to, serving as a lasting reminder of the care and love she put into everything she did.
Deb’s greatest joy in life was her family. She made sure everyone gathered to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and every special occasion in between. While she loved Toby and her boys deeply, her heart belonged to her grandchildren, and she made sure to attend as many of their events and activities as she could. She and Toby loved venturing out together to try new places for breakfast and dinner, often accompanied by Toby posing them for a selfie and teasingly asking, “Where are we now?” (a ritual she patiently went along with). Whether traveling to the East Coast, vacationing in Florida, heading back to Minnesota to visit family, or spending relaxing time up north at their cabin in Adams, the memories made together meant everything to her.
Deb is survived by her husband Toby Anfinson; her sons: Thomas “Tom” (Robin) Anfinson and Nathan (Mara) Anfinson; grandchildren: Andrew, Noah, Wesley, Wyatt, and Avery; siblings-in-law: Maralee Ahrens, Sandy Germer, Andrea (Randy) Samplawski, Elaine Dollar (Chuck), Tim Anfinson (Lisa), and Lisa Anfinson (Mario). She is further survived and missed by dear nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Ahrens and Beverly Lange, her stepmom Joann Ahrens, her granddaughter Nora Anfinson; her brother Dennis Ahrens; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Andrew and Marge Anfinson and brother-in-law Carl “Goober” Germer.
