Dennis Steger, age 77, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home in Horicon.
No formal service for Dennis will be held.
Dennis was born on March 6, 1949, to Jerome and LaVerna (Beck) Steger. He was a proud graduate of Mayville High School. On May 12, 1971, Dennis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Catherine DeLuca at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two and a half years. His military service was a source of pride and reflected his dedication and commitment to his country.
Dennis was a dedicated longtime employee of Metalcraft, where he worked as a punch press operator for many years. Known for his strong work ethic and commitment to quality, Dennis took pride in his work and was a valued member of the Metalcraft team throughout his career.
Dennis was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great happiness spending time hunting, fishing, and camping. Whether in the woods, on the water, or around a campfire, he enjoyed sharing those experiences with family and friends.
He also had a passion for gardening and took pride in caring for his yard and growing plants. Dennis found joy in the simple pleasures of life and appreciated the beauty of nature in every season. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of the outdoors, and the many memories he created with those closest to him.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Catherine; children: Ralph (Carrie) Steger, Nicole Ann Grice, and Dawn Marie Dobbratz; siblings: Jerome (Margie) Steger, LuAnn Ripple, Judy Kaiser, Roger Steger, Darwin (Sheila) Steger, Cynthia (Wayne) Zastrow, Kevin (Debbie) Steger, and Brenda Steger; sister-in-law Diane Steger; brother-in-law Glenn Bauman; grandchildren: Dakota, Darius, Aidyn, Josephine, Sophia, Hudson, and Dakota; and one great-grandson Bennett; as well as other relatives and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Jerry and Ron Steger; and his sister Donna Bauman.
