Don J. Quarford

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Don Jim Quarford, age 72, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, who passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. Born in Iron River, Michigan, on February 28, 1953 to Jean Ann Quarford and Gerald Quarford, Don was a devoted family man and a lifelong lover of the outdoors.

Don honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Known to some as “Snide,” Don found his greatest joy in camping, hunting, and fishing, sharing these passions with family and friends and creating memories that will become stories told to his grandchildren. He was proud of the life he built with his wife, Karen Quarford, and together they enjoyed many adventures, from trips to their Iron River cabin to fishing excursions in Canada. Don also proudly served his community as the Utilities Director of Beaver Dam. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at local establishments, reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new ones.

Don is survived by his wife, Karen Quarford; his sons, Casey (Alyssa) Quarford and Spencer (Taylor) Quarford; and his grandchildren: Liam, Ava, Jase, and Emersyn. He will be remembered for his warmth, his storytelling, and his sense of humor that brought people together.

There will be a celebration of life for Don on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Stormy’s Music Venue in Beaver Dam from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The woods are still and deep,

He found his peace in quiet streams,

In the morning mist and dew,

And though his journey takes him home,

His spirit walks with you.
